North Fork of the American: Class IV

The smallest of the three forks of the American River, the North Fork of the American River is also the most scenic and thrilling whitewater rafting trip. Tumbling out of the Tahoe basin, this undammed river flows through the Chamberlain Falls Gorge as it descends into the confluence of the Middle Fork of the American River. This spring whitewater rafting trip offers nearly continuous and exciting Class III and Class IV rapids on a wild and scenic river corridor.
